I've had some requests to take pictures of the Chinese New Year festival that takes place in Chinatown, NYC every Chinese New Year.
It was a nice experience, very colorful, very crowded - all in all something I would recommend you do - once.

I dunno, i think most of the fun is gone from the chinese new year parade without the influx of fireworks. true its more safe but wheres the insanity!?

No fireworks?! Like.. NONE?! That's gotta be sacrilige... seriously... NO fireworks?! How bizarre.
I also recommend jumping into a frozen river in January. Once.
