Sure, Mr. That'll be ready on Wednesday. By the way, you have the right to remain silent.
If your last name was Sodomsky and you had a collection of child pornography stored on your hard drive, would you bring your laptop into circuit city to be repaired?
I was under the impression that there was no expectation of privacy when you bring your computers in to be fixed. Apparently, there hasn't been a precedent set for this. We'll just have to encrypt our porn for now, and wait for the Supreme Court to make a decision.

A certain agency that will remain anonymous recently discovered 203G of porn on a shared group drive that was utilizing much-needed resources (and backup space) in a way not so cha-cha with the acceptable use policy. The user probably thought he was pretty slick, saving his porn to a shared space, but recently found out (in a ceremony that was hysterical from my vantage point) that he was the only user with write access to that drive.

See, I think i understand the privacy precedent. Like, i wouldnt want these fuckers going through my hard drive and take any private photos/videos i might have whether salacious or not and upload it to youtube, or change it around for his own weird ass pleasures. Then again, clearly in this case not cool man and he deserved to get busted. So i dont see this as clear cut. Im thinking as a result of this, people will have to sign a privacy waiver, where the techs will have access to anything on the computer but this jacknut will get off...figuratively.
Also, to caption K's comment:

BooBoo: What's so weird about "ass pleasures"? or were you talking about weird-ass pleasures and not weird ass pleasures? ::giggle::
This is why I remove anything from my hard drive that could slightly be conceived as being incriminating and put it on my external hard drive before taking my lil' baby-mac in for a tune up. :)
